Realme’s push to get into the larger connected space has been a long time coming, and it has been gradually ramping up its wider ecosystem play with a range of peripherals. The company has been teasing its upcoming smartwatch and television over the last few weeks now and even showed off the Realme Watch casually in a YouTube interview. Now, it looks like we will finally get to see what the Realme TV and Watch are all about as the company gears up for launch.
Given the COVID-19 situation, Realme is opting for a digital launch for the products with sales to follow soon after. If you are interested in tuning into the launch, you can check out the brand’s Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube pages for a live stream on 25 May, starting 12:30 pm India time.
Details are still scant around the Realme Watch, but a quick glance from the interview suggests that the smartwatch will continue to follow the Apple Watch styling that has become common amongst Android smartwatches as well. Expected to be an affordable accessory, the Realme watch will likely run on a proprietary platform instead of Android Wear.
Elsewhere, the Realme TV is believed to launch in 43-inch and 55-inch variants and will support Netflix right out of the box indicating that it might be powered by Android TV. The TV goes up against a range of competition in India’s crowded smart TV space that is dominated by Xiaomi.
