While our phones add a lot to our lives, it’s probably safe to say most of us wish we used them less. Between constant notifications and apps like Twitter and Instagram, it’s easy to lose a good chunk of your day simply looking at your phone. Of course, context is important. We all use our smartphones differently. For some, their phone is their only computer and connection to the internet, as well as family and friends. So it’s understandable if they use their phones more often and for longer periods of time.
You can find out how much time you’ve been spending on your phone by navigating to Android’s Digital Wellbeing dashboard. Since Google announced the feature at I/O 2018, it’s made its way to most Android phones. While on the subject of Digital Wellbeing, it’s worth pointing out that you’ll find tools there to help you limit your phone usage if that’s something you want to do.
