  • A new leak suggests that the next Galaxy Buds won’t be shaped like beans.
  • The upcoming TWS earbuds are expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series.
  • They’re said to come with an improved Ambient mode and ANC.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live caused quite a stir in the TWS market with their unique bean-shaped form factor. However, if a new leak is to be believed, Samsung will ditch the design on the wireless earbuds it plans to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series.

According to SamMobile, the new Galaxy Buds launching next year will look more like the original Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Buds Plus. They’ll apparently sport the regular in-ear design as opposed to the concha-fitting shell of the Galaxy Buds Live. I personally prefer the former over the latter for its comfortable fit but you might beg to differ depending on your ear type.

New Galaxy Buds specs

SamMobile doesn’t disclose a lot of details about the new Galaxy Buds but claims that they’ll feature an improved Ambient mode for allowing external noise to come through. They’re also expected to get Active Noise Cancellation, a feature that was missing from the Galaxy Buds Plus and the original Galaxy Buds. So if not the design, it looks like Samsung is at least borrowing some specs from the Galaxy Buds Live.

Samsung’s new earbuds don’t even have a name right now and we haven’t even seen any renders. However, previous rumors have suggested that they could be called the Galaxy Buds Beyond. The name was spotted in a trademark filing in the US, but it could change by the time the earbuds come to market next year.
