- Alleged renders of the Apple Watch Series 7 have leaked.
- The images show a flatter design in line with Apple’s latest iPhones.
- The watch could also get some new colorways.
The Apple Watch has looked pretty much the same since 2018. However, we might see a fresh look on the next version of the smartwatch. YouTuber Jon Prosser and concept artist Ian Zelbo have created alleged renders of the Apple Watch Series 7 based on images and CAD files sourced by them.
The images show that the Apple Watch 7 could get a prominent redesign in the form of flatter edges as opposed to the curved body of the Apple Watch 6 and models that camera before it. The new design is in line with Apple’s iPhone 12 range and the iPad Air which also feature flat edges.
The display on the new Apple Watch should likely be the same as it has been for the last few generations, claims Prosser. However, the company has apparently been testing models with smaller bezels and more screen real estate.
Prosser also claims that the Apple Watch 7 could debut new colorways, including a pastel green and a light blue option.
Last year, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 might feature a redesign. He said at the time that he expects a “significant form factor design change would come with new Apple Watch models in 2H21 at the earliest.”
Prosser ends his video by saying that he’s unsure if this is indeed the next Apple Watch, but given that Kuo also predicted the design overhaul, it very well could be. We’ll update you if we hear anything more about the wearable.
