- Xiaomi is reportedly working on three new high-end tablets.
- These tablets are tipped to offer 120Hz refresh rates and flagship silicon.
- A subsequent report has filled in more gaps and corroborated the leak.
Updated: May 5 2021 (2:05 AM ET): It looks like XDA-Developers has uncovered references to these tablets as well in code for MIUI 12.5 system apps. The outlet discovered the Enuma, Elish, and Nabu code-names as well as screenshots demonstrating gesture navigation on tablets.
XDA was also able to seemingly corroborate the Snapdragon 800-series power, saying two of the tablets (Enuma and Elish) could offer the SM8250 platform and the third tablet (Nabu) could be powered by the SM8150 platform. The SM8250 platform means either the Snapdragon 865, 865 Plus, or 870, while the SM8150 is either the Snapdragon 855, 855 Plus, or 860.
The outlet also discovered that the Enuma tablet supports voice calls while the others don’t. Furthermore, an affiliated tipster reports that the Nabu tablet could have a 10.97-inch screen and an 8,720mAh battery. Either way, it looks like Xiaomi tablets are definitely in the pipeline.
Original article: April 12 2021 (4:01 AM ET): Xiaomi released its last tablets back in 2018 when it launched the Mi Pad 4 range. This series offered mid-range Snapdragon 660 silicon and a decent price tag. Now, it looks like the wait might be over soon, as Xiaomi is apparently working on a new tablet series.
The Xiaomiui Telegram group reports that Xiaomi has at least three tablet models in the works. These have the model numbers K81, K81A, and K82, along with the apparent code-names Enuma, Elish, and Nabu respectively. It’s unclear if this is the Mi Pad 5 series, although it stands to reason that this would be the case.
All three are expected to offer quad rear camera setups (main/ultra-wide/macro/depth), wireless charging, quad speakers, NFC, and 120Hz IPS LCD screens. Oddly enough, the leak points to a 2,560 x 800 resolution, which is probably a typo (presumably 2,560 x 1,800).

The K81 and K81A seem to be the most impressive devices, purportedly offering a Snapdragon 870 chipset. This would be a major upgrade for the series, offering flagship power as opposed to mid-range silicon. Otherwise, the K81 is also said to offer a 48MP camera compared to the K81A offering a 12MP sensor.
The K82 model apparently differs from the other two devices by serving up a Snapdragon 860 chipset, which would still be a healthy upgrade over the Mi Pad 4 series. It’s also tipped to offer a 12MP sensor.
The Xiaomiui group has a solid but not perfect track record when it comes to leaks. Nevertheless, claims of flagship power line up with a previous claim by frequent Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station. The leaker asserted that Xiaomi’s upcoming tablet would offer Snapdragon 800-series silicon and a high refresh rate. Digital Chat Station also earlier stated that the Mi Pad 5 would offer an 11-inch screen size, although it’s unclear if all the aforementioned models would receive this display size.
