OnePlus TVs are coming to Europe, eventually

  • OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed that his company is planning to sell TVs in Europe.
  • He didn’t say when the sets would be available or how much they would cost.

You might not have to live in a country like India to get your hands on a OnePlus TV in the future. According to WinFuture, OnePlus chief Pete Lau has told the media that his company plans to enter the TV business in Europe.

The executive didn’t outline the price or exact availability for the OnePlus TV line ahead of its Europe debut. Like with its phone line, the company has historically focused on value for money over raw performance. The current lineup would compete with budget and mid-tier sets rather than flagships like LG’s OLED models or Samsung’s Neo QLED series.

There’s certainly pressure on OnePlus to bring its TV range to Europe. One of its Chinese rivals, Xiaomi, entered the European TV market not long ago. OnePlus might want to expand simply to prevent a major competitor from gaining too much ground, even if there are no expectations of playing a large role in the European market.

A OnePlus TV line in Europe would be welcome, at any rate. Although you certainly have choices for Android TV sets in the continent, they tend to be confined to major brands like Sony. They certainly aren’t in the majority. A OnePlus entry would give you another significant choice for Android-powered sets, not to mention diversify the TV scene as a whole.
