- Samsung has launched the Galaxy F52 5G in China.
- It features the same chipset, battery size, and refresh rate as the Galaxy A52 5G.
- The phone does see several downgrades though.
Samsung’s Galaxy F series is its newest range of devices, essentially targeting a similar price segment as its budget M series. Now, Samsung has launched the Galaxy F52 5G, and it shares a few features in common with the recently launched Galaxy A52 5G.
For starters, both phones have a Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, which should enable a good level of system and gaming performance. Samsung’s latest phone also shares the A52 5G’s 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500mAh battery, 25W wired charging capabilities, and 64MP f/1.8 main camera.
That’s about where the comparisons end though, as the Galaxy F52 5G offers a TFT LCD screen as opposed to the A52 5G’s OLED panel. We also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of the pricier phone’s in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as no IP rating (which the A52 5G offers).
Otherwise, the Galaxy F52 5G packs 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a less impressive quad-camera system (64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and a pair of 2MP sensors). Selfies are handled by a 16MP punch-hole shooter. Other notable features include USB-C, a 3.5mm port, and Samsung One UI 3.1 atop Android 11.
Samsung’s latest budget phone is only available in China for now, starting at 1,999 yuan (~$310). The device is available in black and white colorways. There’s no word on wider availability, but this could be a neat alternative to the A52 5G if you want a similar level of horsepower, battery life, and the same refresh rate.
