It’s not just you: Some of the most popular websites are offline right now

  • Plenty of big-name websites are suffering from major outages right now.
  • It’s believed that CDN provider Fastly is to blame for the issue.

A variety of websites seem to be knocked offline or are suffering from intermittent access right now, and the culprit seems to be a major content delivery network (CDN) provider.

The likes of The Verge, Reddit, Pinterest, Twitch, The Guardian, Stack Overflow, and the BBC are all affected by the outage, which seems to be caused by a major issue with CDN provider Fastly (h/t: Matt Taylor).

“We are continuing to investigate this issue,” reads the latest update from Fastly on its status dashboard at 10:26 AM UTC (6:26 AM ET). The dashboard itself shows “degraded performance” across virtually all its nodes.

We’ll update the article when the situation improves and Fastly reveals a reason for the outage. Are there any other major websites affected by this issue? Let us know below.
