What is UFC 264? Here’s how to watch McGregor vs Poirier 3.

It’s only been a few months since Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier last stepped into the ring at UFC 257. Yet, we always knew that a trilogy fight would be on the way when Poirier emerged victorious, tying the series at one. Now, the pair are back in action to settle the score, and here’s what to know about UFC 264.

The upcoming July 10 event is the next edition of UFC’s Pay-Per-View action, and it’s gearing up to be a rubber match for the ages. While McGregor and Poirier stand to receive most of the attention, UFC 264 features a packed card. No.2 Gilbert Burns and No.4 Stephen Thompson are scheduled as a Welterweight co-main event. Ex-NFL star Greg Hardy is also slated against Tai Tuivasa in hopes of keeping his record above .500.

In Women’s Bantamweight, Irene Aldana and Yana Kunitskaya will take to the mat with eyes on a possible championship bout against Amanda Nunes. No.7 Jessica Eye, who fought at UFC 257, will step back into the ring against No.4 Jennifer Maia. Check out the full card below if these fights aren’t enough reason to get the PPV.

Now, for the action we’ve all been waiting for — McGregor and Poirier, part three. In case you missed the first two bouts, McGregor dominated UFC 178 on the way to a first-round TKO. Then, Poirier struck back, quite literally, with a barrage of blows that put McGregor out early in the second round. Now, Poirier comes into UFC 264 ranked at No.1 in the Lightweight category, just behind champion Charles Oliveira. McGregor comes in as the No.5 fighter in the class, hoping to put himself on the shortlist for a shot at the champ.

Who else is on the card?

McGregor vs Poirier 3 may be the main event at UFC 264, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg. You’ll have to wait all night long to watch the two battle it out, but here are the fights you can catch in the meantime:

  • No.2 Gilbert Burns vs No.4 Stephen Thompson — Welterweight
  • No.4 Irene Aldana vs No.5 Yana Kunitskaya — Bantamweight
  • Michel Pereira vs Niko Price — Welterweight

Note: Sean O’Malley was slated to take on Louis Smolka at Bantamweight, but Smolka has withdrawn for unknown reasons.
