Redmi Note 7 vs Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 showing drop down ads in MIUI

If you’re a Xiaomi or Realme user, you’re probably used to seeing ads on your smartphones. Both firms place advertising into native apps, much to the annoyance of users. These aren’t the only offenders, though. Samsung stuffs ads into its key apps, too, including Pay, Health, and more. However, this could soon come to an end.

Samsung will reportedly remove ads from its default apps in the future, paving the way for a cleaner One UI ecosystem. However, this got us wondering: what do you think of ads in Android skins and pre-installed apps?

Be sure to let us know by voting in the poll below.

Despite their annoyances, there are plenty of reasons to support ads on phones. It allows Xiaomi to decrease the initial asking price of their devices, bolstering their accessibility. The firm also lets users disable most of them, too.

However, we understand if you’re not on board with the practice. Smartphones are more personal devices than smart TVs, and ads also subtract from the valuable screen real estate available. In a previous poll, the vast majority of readers said they wouldn’t purchase a Samsung phone laced with ads. We wonder if and how your feelings have changed.
